Moveandstay over MCP
The same three capabilities as the HTTP API — search properties, read one property, send an enquiry — as MCP tools, at https://moveandstay.com/mcp.
Same keys, same hourly budget, same rules about what may be said. The tools call the same functions the HTTP endpoints call, so there is one answer to what a filter means rather than two.
What to enter
| Server URL | https://moveandstay.com/mcp |
| Transport | Streamable HTTP (http). Not stdio, not SSE. |
| Header | Authorization: Bearer YOUR_KEY |
| Tools | search_properties, get_property, create_enquiry |
A key comes from contact@moveandstay.com. Menu wording inside hosted apps moves around; the four values above do not, so match on meaning rather than on a label.
Any client that reads a config file
Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf, Zed and most editor integrations read a JSON file with an mcpServers object. Add one entry:
{
"mcpServers": {
"moveandstay": {
"type": "http",
"url": "https://moveandstay.com/mcp",
"headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_KEY" }
}
}
}Some clients spell the transport "transport": "http" instead of "type". If one rejects the block above, that is the field to change.
Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http moveandstay https://moveandstay.com/mcp \
--header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_KEY"Then /mcp in a session to confirm it connected.
ChatGPT, Muse Code and other hosted clients
Hosted clients add a remote MCP server from their own settings rather than a file. Find the screen for adding a custom or remote MCP server, give it https://moveandstay.com/mcp, and supply the Authorization header above wherever it asks for authentication.
If a client offers no way to send a header, it cannot use this server: there is no anonymous tier and no key-in-the-URL alternative, because a key in a URL ends up in logs and browser history.
Checking it works
The handshake costs nothing against your budget, so this is a free check:
curl -sS -X POST 'https://moveandstay.com/mcp' \
-H 'Authorization: Bearer YOUR_KEY' \
-H 'content-type: application/json' \
-d '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":1,"method":"tools/list"}'It should list three tools. Without a key it answers 401; with a key whose budget is spent, tool calls answer with a rate_limited message and a Retry-After header.
What the tools will and will not do
The same limits as the HTTP API, and the server states them to the model in its own instructions so they are hard to miss:
- No availability. There is no calendar.
create_enquirysends an introduction to the operator. It reserves nothing.- No minimum stay, and no pricing beyond a "from" rate. A null rate means *not stated*.
- No contact details are returned for any property.
create_enquiryrequires explicit consent and an idempotency key.
